How can I identify path too long in windows file explorer windows 11?

To make back up on external drive without mistake, I want to identify first the paths which are too long on a drive w:. There is no more utility for this purpose in the microsoft store. The one I had purchased path too long does not work anymore.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Enabling long file path name does not work on Windows 11

Enabling long file path names should allow you to use paths longer than 260 characters in Windows 11.

However, there are a few things to check to ensure that it is properly enabled:

    1. Check that the policy editor changes were saved correctly: Make sure that the changes you made in the policy editor were saved correctly by opening the policy editor and checking that the changes you made are still there.
    2. Check that the registry changes were saved correctly: Make sure that the changes you made in the registry editor were saved correctly by opening the registry editor and checking that the changes you made are still there.
    3. Check that your system is running the correct version of Windows 11: Ensure that your system is running the correct version of Windows 11 that supports long file paths. You can check this by going to "Settings" > "System" > "About" and looking under "Windows specifications" for the "Edition" and "Version" information.
    4. Check that the program you are using supports long file paths: Not all programs support long file paths, so make sure the program you are using has been updated to support long file paths.
    5. Check that your file path does not contain invalid characters: Make sure your file path does not contain any invalid characters, such as <, >, |, ?, *, or :, as these characters are not allowed in file paths.
If you have checked all of the above and long file paths still do not work, you may want to consider using a third-party tool that supports long file paths, such as <removed>

Let me know if this was helpful or if you require additional help.
