Windows 10: How can I install Windows 10 Pro from windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB

The thing is, you should never have to change the boot order in the Bios, most people set it to a dvd as 1st and the hard drive or ssd with the operating system on at as 2nd, and I always disable the rest.

When you want to boot from a usb stick like you are doing, you just use the one time boot menu to choose the usb stick.

But you claim you can not bring up a boot menu, which is strange. And looking at your picture it does not even show you which key to push to bring up the boot menu. (Only setup, which is the Bios)

But I know from past experience, if you set that usb stick as 1st in the boot order, in the bios, it will keep trying to boot from the usb stick over and over.

That`s why I tell people never to change the boot order when using a usb stick, just use the boot menu one time to choose the stick, and that`s it.

 

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Just trying to eliminate things. Setting the wrong boot order will cause a delay, its usually not an indefinite delay though?

 

This looks to be a fairly old laptop. Might not have a quick boot menu? I agree, though, even if its set to optical first, eventually it should boot to the hard drive, with a small delay. You never know though if the owner has gone in and set the hard drive as first boot device. I do it all the time. I have the quick boot menu option though.

EDIT: Plus a lot of people don't know about the quick boot option or how to access it. *Wink

 

Ya it should just skip it if nothings there, just like an empty dvd drive.

 

As long as its not the only Boot option. *Wink Not likely but possible, just saying. I go in and remove everything except my hard drive. I only ever use optical media to install games. And only ever boot from thumb drives via my quick boot menu. Different strokes for different folks. =)

I also disable the boot screen and set the timer to 1 second.

 

I set the BIOS quick boot to on, you only ever need to see the detailed if its failing or doing something funky. Most of what I see on that screen is mumbo jumbo to me anyway. *Wink

Once everything is honky dory you can enable your splash screen again, if you want to.

 

Actually, my No. 1 question, to the OP Is. Was Windows 10 ever installed on this device before, other than 10 Enterprise LTSB?

I know all these and I change the boot order when windows installation need the first restart. And its not taking time its hanged or stopped until press any key to proceed. the problem is different and reason should be something else.

I forgot that Windows 10 was installed before or not.. possibility is enterprise was the first windows 10 on this device.

 

Ok, weird that LTSB worked but 10 Pro doesn't? They are two different ISO's though. It sounds like its getting right up to the first reboot then locking up. I still think its a driver/hardware issue. I have no idea how to prove disprove that though?
I do believe if you force shutdown (hold the power button down) 3 times in a row, it will go into startup repair all on its own.

I think u are right.. might be its hardware problem.. anyway ... power button 3 times ? how long each time ?

 

You press and hold the power button until it forces a hard shutdown. You must do this while windows is still booting up, as soon as you see the blue Windows logo on the black background. Don't wait for the desktop. After the third (or fourth) time it will boot to the repair options.
