Windows 10: How can I log into my hp laptop, without my pin,it won't allow me to use my fingerprints...

Hp laptop screen won’t display except occasionally

I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?

 

Log in by PIN/Fingerprint Failed

Hi,

I have been in problems with PIN/fingerprint log-in for over 1 month.

My log-in method is password, PIN and fingerprint. My fingerprint log-in works just fine previously. Sometimes it cannot identify me, which is normal, I would enter my password to unlock instead. I could not remember the PIN, and the password is a lot longer than PIN, so I decided to change to a new PIN which I could remember. Ever since I changed my PIN a month ago, both fingerprint and PIN stopped working.

Problem description:

1. Previously, when I tap my finger in the sensor, the screen will unlock automatically.

2. Now when I tap my finger, my system needs me to enter PIN

3. After entering the correct PIN, computer says it is not working due to error code (0x80090027), and advises me to restart and see if the problem can be solved automatically.

4. It has not been solved at all, though I have restart the PC for dozen times for the previous month.

My personally account is the Administrator, and I have another student account binding by onedrive by not the Windows account page. My PC is Samsung Book Pro, if this helps.

HP 4540S Can’t access fingerprint reader for log-in after windows 10 upgrade

I had the same issue after installing the Windows 10 November update 1511 on HP Probook 4540s, but i noticed it was a fingerprint device driver issue & did the following to activate fingerprint login in Windows Hello

• Open device manager
• Under Biometric devices, select Validity Sensor & click "Uninstall". A dialog box appears prompting to confirm device uninstall, Check "Delete the driver software for this device" & click "OK"
• On the device manager window, click "Action" & click "Scan for hardware changes", an unknown device will appear, Right click it & select "Update Driver Software" to download the updated driver from Microsoft
• After the system has installed the driver, restart your computer
• Open "settings", click "Accounts" then click "Sign-in Options" and check under Windows Hello you'll see an option for fingerprint.
  

The above steps successfully worked for me & can now use my fingerprint for login. Hope it helps you too.
