How can I make Chrome remember its position when I reopen it?

I've never had this issue before. When I reopen Chrome it has always opened in the same position that I left it, which is maximized vertically.

But last night I started typing and accidentally had my hands in the wrong position, so instead of hitting the intended keys, I ended up hitting what turned out to be some kind of keyboard shortcuts that changed the position of the Chrome window. It unmaximized it slightly, and I think moved it around.

After putting it back where I want it, now it...

  2. Remember window position?

If I use win+shift+up arrow on chrome, outlook, etc., it won't remember that position when I reopen. Is there a fix for this? I hold control when closing, etc and nothing will save a window that's flush with the top and bottom, but space on the sides.

Nice if Start screen "remembered" its position

This is not really a problem to be solved now, but a suggestion to Microsoft for a future update or version of Windows.

It would be nice if the Start screen remembered its position. For example, if I open the Start screen and scroll down to those applications that start with the letter "W", the next time I open the Start screen, it reverts back to displaying the top of the
list. It would be nice if it "remembered" I was on "W" and opened at that position.

    Remember window position?

I know it may seem nit picky, but it's an important distinction. If it didn't remember it's position it would always open in the default position regardless of where it was when you closed it. The fact that it remembers it's position, then seems to deliberately adjust means that it always opens in a different place, based on where the window was when you closed it.
