Windows 10: How can I make it work in Windows 11 the expansion of the path limit number and long names

Good morning The options of extending the number of the path limit and long names in Windows 11 do not work, I have them enabled through the Windows registry, Powershell, GPO and the file explorer keeps showing the error very long path, the settings seem to work for some applications, but not for Windows file explorer. Enabling long file path name does not work on Windows 11

Enabling long file path names should allow you to use paths longer than 260 characters in Windows 11.

5. Check that your file path does not contain invalid characters: Make sure your file path does not contain any invalid characters, such as <, >, |, ?, *, or :, as these characters are not allowed in file paths.

Windows 10 commands with Long path name are not working

Hi,

I am using Windows 10 Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.112)

I have tried following to enable long path name support on my windows 10 system -

1. Set the registry key at

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem LongPathsEnabled (Type: REG_DWORD)

2. Enabled

Group Policy at Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Filesystem > Enable Win32 long paths

Rebooted the system after setting registry and enabling group policy but I still can not use long path name with windows commands.

Can you please suggest what else needs to be done to enable long path name on windows 10.

This error appears when the name of the file/path names exceeds the 260 character limit . We suggest changing the name of the file/path as an initial troubleshooting in resolving the issue.
