Windows 10: How can I make password reset disk on my laptop if I can't remember my password?

From what I understand, you can't use a password reset you made from a different computer to another. But the problem is how can I create one for my laptop if I don't remember the password. How can I create one? What should I use? I've done my research and I'm honestly lost. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

reset laptop password

i could not figure out what forum this should go in, so feel free to move to whatever forum it should be in.
a friend just called, and said he has 2 daughters and 2 dell laptops. his daughters have lost the password to both laptops. is there a way to reset the password without a full reformat? he said his daughters have a lot of music, pictures, ect. and wants to avoid reinstalling windows.
i know that a long time ago there was a jumper on the motherboard that would reset the password on a regular pc. is there such a jumper on a laptop? or is there any free software that would let him reset the passwords? he can not afford a dell tech to fix, and i told him i would see if there was a way to reset it without a format. thanks!

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?
