Windows 10: How can I maximize a window for which the taskbar icon disappeared?

I've been running HDDScan all day to check two HDDs. I minimized the windows, so both instances of the program were only visible as taskbar icons (in the notification area).

Just now explorer.exe crashed (as it does) and the HDDScan icons didn't repopulate the taskbar. Both instances are still running though. How can I get them back in focus?

mouse cursor disappears on taskbar and on windows control buttons (maximize, close)

After installing Fall Creators update today, the mouse cursor disappears on certain elements.

• disappears on taskbar area (when in that area, also if taskbar is still hidden)
• disappears on maximized windows controlbuttons (maximize, close)

Reinstalling mousedriver and upgrade to newest Nvidia gpu-driver didnt fix it.

What is the solution?

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

I think you just skipped a step - not right clicking on the program name to get to the properties option
