    There is no generally accepted method for measuring internet speed. There are many websites that offer to measure your speed, and they provide very different results.

    The transmission speed of your network adapter is measured in Mbps, while you say that the download speed of your internet connection is measured in mbps. There's a massive difference between M and m. Better check your internet speed.

    In any case, the rated transmission speed of your network adapter (which can't be increased) and your internet connection are both theoretical maximums measured under laboratory conditions. What you actually experience in the real world is usually much slower.

    There is no standard for measuring download speed, so ISPs are free to use whatever creative method suits their advertising. You will probably laugh when you see how differently your download speed is measured by different websites (unless you cry.)

    Most people pay for much more download speed than they need. Unless you have a special reason for needing more, anything beyond 50 Mbps isn't adding anything other than money to your ISP.

    Finally, the download speed only measures how quickly the electrons can travel to your computer once they reach the internet. If a web server or a relay is overloaded or misconfigured, or if a page is poorly coded or filled with advertising you
    will still have to wait.
