Windows 10: How can I note pad code [not readabl;e text?

I selected notepad for my prayerpartner reports to go into and now I can't read them because the text is in an unreadable text like a code or something, I wish that I hadn't chosen to put my work in notepad, can someone help me to get my prayerpartner work into readable text?
