Windows 10: How can I open Windows Sandbox on Windows 10Pro VM using VirtualBox?

I am trying to use Windows Sandbox for practicing malware analysis My host machine is using Win11 Home, but my VM is Win10 Pro. VirtualBox settings: Nested VT-x/AMD-V enabled, and my paravirtualization interface is set to Hyper-V.On my VM I've enabled Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, Windows Hypervisor Platform and Windows Sandbox. On my host machine I've also enabled Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform. Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS as well. I've also ran multiple commands like "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto" on both my host machine and my VM and ".\VBo

VirtualBox VM activation of Preview build 17763.104

I had issues with my Linux Mint 18.3 host using a VirtualBox VM of Windows 10 pro preview build, so I followed the procedure to "export" The Windows 10 VM and also saved the original VM intact in a separate folder on my data drive. After a clean install
of Linux Mint 19 and installing the latest version of VirtualBox available in the repos I then imported the VM of Windows 10 that I had previously exported. This went smoothly enough, but the Windows 10 (Build 17763.104) now says it is not activated - whereas
it has previously been activated for years through successive preview builds and even different versions of Linux Mint and VirtualBox versions (I don't recall ever having to activate it). I thought maybe the "export" of the VM was the issue, so copied back
the ORIGINAL and UNCHANGED Windows 10 VM folder and opened that in VirtualBox. Now even that original Windows 10 Pro Preview build is no longer activated despite NO CHANGES to the VM itself from the previous hour before I reinstalled Linux Mint and VirtualBox.

How do I activate this? I have never had to before and have used this VM for years with every Insider preview update sent out.

 

Problem activating Windows 11 after switching VMs

Hi there,

I purchased Windows 11 Home a couple of months ago and installed it on a VirtualBox VM. But VirtualBox was crashing quite a bit so I deactivated Windows 11 using the following commands:

• slmgr /upk
  
• slmgr /cpky
  

(as suggested on Redirecting ) and then installed it on a VMWare VM. Problem is, I can't activate Windows on the new VM even though it was deactivated on the old VM. I tried the recommended Troubleshooting Wizard solutions to no available and I couldn't find a Microsoft email address or support number, so I am posting here. Can anyone suggest how to contact Microsoft about this activation issue?

I would like to install VirtualBox on my Azure VM

Hello,

I am looking for advice.



My aim is to create my own sandbox to analyse malware in Azure VM.

I want to install VirtualBox on my Azure VM then in VBox two other systems - (Windows 10 and ubuntu).

I am not sure which size and version of windows will be good to create such a Azure VM? and allow me to create and run VirtualBox?
