Windows 10: How can I prevent my pc from shutting everything down and going into sleep mode?

I use a number of small Windows 10 and 11 PCs to run various game servers for my friends group. The problem is when I'm away, there is a good chance that when I come back, the software I was using will all be off and my pc will be in sleep mode with me having to login to get to my desktop again and none of the programs I was relying on running while I'm away stay open. Sometimes I can get away with running it for a few days consecutively, but most days I wake up, someone has messaged me that my servers are down and I have to go restart them. I don't know if my pc is restarting for some reason

Update Preventing Windows Going into Sleep Mode

FYI, In early December, while I had my Windows update over-ride disabled, MS blessed my PC with a new 2004 OS. The sleep function has been completely intermittent and unreliable ever since except for one short period. The previous OS, 1809 worked wonderfully for sleep and auto-brightness adjustments between DC & AC power. All gone now. :-\

After running powercfg -requests just now, I noted 2 instances of a battery limiter App I use that may have been preventing sleep, fixed now. I'll shorten the delay time for sleep and see if sleep works again.







Update;

It appears that sleep is working on my PC with 2004, it must have been fixed by MS. *Rolleyes

I'm glad I didn't clean install 1909 as a fix. *Smile

 

PC wakes up immediately after going into Sleep mode and also immediately after shutting down!

To fix the issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Select the Start button, then select Settings.
• Select System.
• Select Power & sleep.
• Ensure the Sleep setting is set to a desired value.
• Have a look under Additional power settings.
• Select Change Plan Settings next to the option that you have selected.
• Select Change advanced power settings.
• On the Power Options screen, expand each setting and ensure that they allow the computer to go to sleep mode. If the option under
  Multimedia settings > When sharing media was set to
  Prevent idling to sleep, set this to Allow the computer to sleep or just hit the
  Restore plan defaults button and that should toggle all items to where sleeping is allowed in Windows 10.

Computer shuts down instead of going in to sleep mode

Since two weeks my Dell laptop is shutting down every time when:

• Closing the laptop
• Pressing the power button short
• Manually via the Start Menu

All these options are set to Sleep Mode and not Shut Down.
