Windows 10: How can I put a shortcut on my Windows 10 desktop that will open a particular Excel .xlsx...

I keep one workbook file 2023_Job-16087.xlsx with several worksheet tabs January, February, March, ... and every month make a 'current' shortcut for other users. I want to get the user to the right file & tab automatically to record data. The shortcuts always stay in the same folder, say O:\Jobs\Copy Counts\ and each month the new shortcut replacing last months' shortcut points to and opens the proper location for any user to start recording information. Is this possible - to make the opened file jump to the correct tab?

xlsx files can't open

• Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
• Click OK.

• Is Microsoft Excel installed on your computer? If yes, which version of Microsoft Excel are you using?
• Are you getting any error messages when opening the .xlsx files?
• Did you create the said file or was it downloaded from a certain source?

• Which Office version is installed on the computer?
• Did you check if Excel application is listed in the context menu on right clicking on the
  .xlsx file?
• Which is the current Windows build installed on the computer?

Windows 10 commands/shortcuts/env. var.

Keyboard shortcuts to open programs:

Create a shortcut on the desktop to whatever program you want. Right click -> Properties and fill in the field there. Sadly the shortcut needs to remain on the desktop, but you can hide it.

Fun fact: If you had keyboard shortcuts for programs pinned to your Windows 7 start menu, those shortcuts still work when you update to Windows 10.
