Windows 10: how can i put my computer back the way it was before i was hijacked with an automatic edge...

windows 10, edge issuethe dark overlord microsoft, hijacked me to a point i cannot find an answer for, as i am not a tech saavy individual. i dont want my devices to sync no matter what the digital universe thinks is best for me, asking 10 times a day. i like to keep my household, separate from my work, separate from my hobbies. but the dark overlord updated microsoft edge for me, and is now prompting me login to my sons accounthe doesnt use this computer and i cannot access any webpages except the MS login page. when i click on the favorites tabwhich has been turned into a half star with l

In the book, Windows 10 The Missing Manual, I found a way to open a new page directly into Edge.

Open the File Explorer and type in a known safe website. The page will automatically open in Edge. Once there, I was able to clear history and close all tabs. The hijacked page was gone. I closed Edge and reopened it. All is as it should be. Just hope it
stays that way.
