My pc uses around %40 ram when idle and after checking task manager i noticed i have around 40 services running and was wondering if there is any way to close or delete all the service files that arent necessary to windows as i most likely have a bunch i never actually use as i have a lot of programs installed

Win 10 How to get rid of Windows.old folder and content.

    *Think

As always, there seems to be lots of alleged fixes out there, which may work on versions earlier than Win 10... but not with Win 10. The struggle for getting rid of this now un-needed bloat seems to be wrapped up in file permissions. But even when I try to clobber it with administrative authority, it won't budge. One fix suggests that you can use disk cleanup to get rid of it by selecting previous installation files. Heh. Yeah. Just TRY and find that option in Win 10.

Ok. Somebody hopefully has managed to resolve this inigma. Step by step, please. How can i quickly get rid of unnecessary servuces :)

    Unnecessary processs

    Hi Ramon,

Turn off all unnecessary startup applications and processes:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

    Click on the Startup Tab

See any non-essential items are listed there

If so, select and click 'Disable'

    Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list, see any non-essential items are listed there, uncheck any you find

    Click Apply and OK

Turn off all unnecessary Background Apps

    Open the Settings App

Go to Privacy - Background Apps

Turn off any App you do not need running in the background

    Restart your PC

Programs Missing From Control Panel List

I was able to get rid of XNVIEW by downloading it and using it's own uninstaller.
Have tried method suggested by Pyramid 10 with photoscape without success.
Can't figure out how to do what is asked.

    Your next suggestion?
