Windows 10: How can I re-enable my touchscreen when the option has disappeared from Device Manager?

I have a Dell XPS13 laptop bought in late 2019 not long after having this laptop I turned off the touchscreen function for personal reasons but now all these years later and having updated from Windows 10 to 11 I would like to enable the touchscreen again but the function HID-compliant touch screen is not available in the Device Manager. I have tried to find a driver from both Dell who tell me that it is up to Microsoft to update screen drivers and Microsoft but cannot find a way to search for or even install a driver that will allow me to enable the touch screen.Any help would be appreciate

I disabled my touchscreen about 8-12 months ago. Now I wanted to enable it but noticed it was missing from device manager menu. When I searched online, I realized that it was due to some windows update. There is no HID Compliant Touch
Screen even when I click on 'show hidden icons' so it appears my driver disappeared, probably in an upgrade.

I didn't see any touchscreen option listed as "usb touchscreen device" under "mice and other pointing devices" (someone who got same problem had it, they uninstalled it and it fixed
their issue or so they told)

 

Enable Touchscreen on Windows 10

I do not use the Touchscreen for personal reasons, so when I purchased my HP laptop I disabled it when I customized the settings. That was a few years ago.

I now need the Touchscreen to create an electronic signature, but cannot find it in the Device Manager, which is where all suggestions are pointing me.

When I open up Human Interface Devices, there are only 4 items listed, and none of them state Touchscreen. Here is what's listed: HID-compliant consumer control device; HID-compliant wireless radio controls; HP Wireless Button Driver; and USB Input Device.

Is it possible that the Touchscreen enable/disable selection is somewhere else?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

  Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.
  

Step 2: You may follow the steps and check if it helps in resolving the issue, as the device might be hidden.

    Press Windows key + X.
    
  • 
    Click on Device Manager.
    
  • 
    Click on View.
    
  • 
    Click on Show
    Hidden Devices.
    
  • 
    Search for the Bluetooth device.
