Windows 10: How can I recover a retail server 2019 license key from an active server?

I have "inherited" a server with server 2019 standard - retail installed in a very poor configuration. I want to rebuild the server and reuse the license, but I do not have the product key or any documentation. How can I recover/replace/reuse that activation key, so I don't have to buy a new one?

Server 2019 KMS Host and VAMT doesn't like Server 2019 KMS Keys

Seen on those too! None of the 2019 Keys listed work in VAMT, this is my problem! So Server 2019 Client OS cannot activate against the new KMS Host.

The first one in this list is Windows 10 2015 LTSC.



- - - Updated - - - Clearly there is a massive bug in VAMT because I've tried earlier versions with the same problem. 2019 GVLKs just don't work. Is there another way I can add GVLKs to the KMS Host?

Hi,

I have downloaded windows server 2019 server evaluation iso from Microsoft website, i will install and update it and install all my application and will be use in production. After two week i will purchase the server 2019 license.

Can i just activate the server by using new purchased activation key without any reformat and re installation of application. And during ordering the new license do i have to order any specific license so that evaluation version will accept it. And all this
activation i have to do offline without internet, is it possible ?. please advise and more information.
