Windows 10: How can I recover an account someone hacked? They changed my email and the phone number.

On a random Tuesday I got an alert from my phone that phone number had been removed from a Microsoft acc but it didn’t say my email so I didn’t care. When I try to hop on my Xbox app I’m greeted with a message to sign in which I attempted to do. I put in my email for the account but when I hit next it told me the email was never associated with a Microsoft account, which isn’t true because I’ve been playing Xbox games for almost a year on that email, please help me if you can.

Account hacked and email and phone number changed.

My Microsoft account was hacked and the hacker changed the email and phone number, I've contacted Microsoft and they want to transfer my account files but I feel like it is kind of risky and they don't want to do anything and I have important files on my office365 that I need, I've also spent so much money on my xbox account just to lose it like that. I've filled out the recover for but it says I haven't provided enough information when I put everything on the account. If anyone knows what to do please tell me.

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!

 

My EA account has been hacked

Changing them might of been a error unless you used another system.. I hope you got all your receipts.

Maybe he hacked their system and that's how he did it ?. I still think making a new account be the best way to go.

OOh i did find this though using Yahoo search thinking if you phone the UK number they could give you the right one with email address too.
