Windows 10: How can I remove my son's account from the Family Safety group?

When I try to remove my son's account from the Family group, I get an error message saying" You can't remove Matthew from the family groupFamily members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for Matthew can remove this family member. Ask the family organizer who granted Matthew consent to remove Matthew from the family group."However, I am already signed in on the organizer account. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

  - let him login to family.microsoft.com to check if he belongs to a family group or not
  
• Try adding your son’s account again after a few hours or days.

I need assistance moving a child to a new family group.

To resolve this issue and move your son's account to the new family group, follow these steps:

1. Remove Your Son from the Old Family Group: Since your wife cannot manage the old family group after leaving it, you need to ensure she has left the old family group properly and is no longer associated with it. It might be necessary to rejoin the old family group temporarily to remove your son's account. Here’s how you can do that:
   
   • Have your wife rejoin the old family group (if she can).
     
   • Once she’s back in the old family group, she can remove your son from that group.
     
   • After removing your son, she can leave the old family group again.
     
2. Invite Your Son to the New Family Group: After successfully removing your son from the old family group, you can now invite him to join your new family group. Here’s how:
   
   • Go to the Microsoft Family Safety website: Microsoft Family Safety.
     
   • Sign in with your Microsoft account.
     
   • Select “Add a family member” and enter your son's email address.
     
   • Your son will receive an invitation email. He needs to accept this invitation to join your family group.
     
3. Check and Confirm:
   
   • Ensure that your son accepts the invitation.
     
   • Once he accepts, check the family group settings to confirm that he is now a member of your new family group.

Remove my son from family account

Regarding to your information I assume that you can't remove your son's account from the family group.

We can't check by service number, Support may have directed you to the wrong place, the community is a public platform and we can't operate

it for you. Maybe you can try to remove your son's account through the Family Safety APP.
