Windows 10: How can I remove the always open this file type with this application?

Hi so I ran into an issue today when my friend asked me to extract assets from his unity projects that were corrupted which I knew how and had all the neccesary resources but I accidentally pressed always open this file type with this application on the app I needed but it needs to be unknown not opened with the application when double clicked I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how I could remove this app always being the one that opens it because then I can't extract them and he really needs it thanks

How to remove "Open with" option

The "open with" is working as designed

If you have a number of applications that are capable of opening a file type then these will be listed in the "open with" dialogue in addition to the actual default application set to open the file type. The "Open With" dialogue is populated by registered applications and ordered by usage. In order to remove an option from the list you would need to De-Register the application. Quite often the only way to do this is to uninstall them, although even this does not always work. With the untouchable status of Edge in Windows ten ( it's microsoft's Blue eyed child ), I think you have somwhat lower than zero chance of removing it from the list, (and at times resetting itself as the default)

 

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

2. Have you made any changes on your computer, prior to this issue?

To fix issues with Word documents opening slowly, I suggest you to attach a different template to the document and check if that helps. Follow the below steps to attach a templates.

Steps:-

1. Open Word application.
2. Click on File and select Options.
3. Select Add-Ins from the list.
4. Under Manage Select Templates and click on
   Go.
5. In the pop up, type Normal in the Document template.
6. Click on Ok.

To fix issues with Adobe files opening slowly follow the below troubleshooting steps and check if that helps.

Steps:-

1. Open Adobe application.
2. Click on Edit.
3. Select Preferences option.
4. Tap on General.
5. Uncheck Enable protected mode at startup.
