Windows 10: How can I remove the PIN from my Windows 11 device?

Hi,I know the password for my W11 laptop, but I let my mother use it last night and she set a new PIN, then forgot what she set it to. Now I can't log in!The login screen doesn't ask me to use my password,only my unknown PIN. How can I reset or remove the PIN? I can log into the associated Outlook account from my Android device, and I can boot into a Ubuntu live disk and modify Windows OS files if necessary.I have a system restore point from last week if I need a last resort,but I'd really rather not lose my data from this week.

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Remove Devices

I understand that you are facing issues while removing the device from your Microsoft account as it keeps popping back after removing.



It could be possible that the device was using OneDrive with the same Microsoft account and that might be the reason you are able to see the device listed under your profile. I would suggest you to remove the device from OneDrive
and see if that helps.



You can follow the steps to remove the device from OneDrive.

1. Login to
   https://onedrive.live.com.
2. Now on the left hand pane click on PC’s.
3. Now click on the devices that are listed under PC’s and on the right hand side click on
   Remove PC.
