Windows 10: How can I rename items in Quick Access folder?

I've found some discussions on that dated 6-7 years ago. There were no reasonable solutions provided then. I guess it's time to re-open the discussion and maybe do something about it?So, my question is...How or rather when I'll be able to:1 Right-click an item in the Quick Access folder2 Select "Rename"3 Type in a new custom name4 Click "Accept"... and be done with it.Thanks MS for your continuous excellence and support!Vlad

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Rename pinned items in Windows Explorer? (Quick Access)

Here was my solution: I created a folder called "My Shortcuts" in My Documents and pinned it to the Quick Access bar. For each folder I want added, I create a shortcut and move it to the "My Shortcuts" folder. The shortcut can be renamed at will. It's
an extra click but it serves the purpose.

This is incredibly annoying. Instead of using OneDrive to synch to SharePoint 2013, I had to go back to using Network Folders/WebDAV (not entirely a bad thing) but the problem is that all SharePoint document libraries are called "Docs." Without the ability
to rename Quick Access items, I just have a long list of "Docs." Don't do what I did and go to properties to rename it because that actually renames the Folder itself (versus the shortcut).

 

Windows 10 - How to Rename Quick Access items

When I pin folder locations to the Quick Access list in Windows 10, I am seeking the option to be able to rename them.

I used to do this in Windows 8 Favorites list. But when I try to do this in Windows 10, I am forced to actually change the name of the actual folder, which I do not want to do.

I am seeking to see if it possible to rename the names on Pinned Quick Access list, like I have done previously with Windows 8 favorties?
