    How can I reset display to primary on each startup?


    Hello there,I have a setup with a PC with Windows 11 - two display devices connected, one is a monitor, the other is the living room TV.By default I use the monitor for most of my work, but occasionally I change the display to TV to play or organize my photos. My problem is that the display device is not resetting, and if I turn the computer off with the display on the TV, it will not revert to the monitor on the next startup. I will get a black monitor when I start the PC next time, and Windows + P doesn't work.I tried to schedule a task to run '.\DisplaySwitch.exe /internal' on each startup,

    Windows 10 Login Screen not respecting primary display. Identity Issues?

    Hi,



    I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.


    • Press Windows +X.

    • Select Control panel.

    • Click on Display.

    • Select Change display settings at top left corner.

    • Click on Identify then you will be able to check the primary display.

    Primary display setting in BIOS to auto or PCIE

    Everytime when I start my PC I see a message on my display that it is waiting for a signal, this takes about 8 seconds or so, I have my main monitor connected with DVI-D.

    Currently the primary display setting is on "Auto" in the BIOS.
    Now what if I set this to PCIE, would my monitor get the signal immidiately when I startup my PC and getting a faster boot?

    Now what if my videocard would be dead for some reason, can I still see the BIOS when I startup the PC by having the display connected to the motherboard for CPU igp when the primary display setting is PCIE?

    If my card would be dead sometime for some reason, I probably have to take out the battery from the motherboard a few seconds to reset the BIOS?

    Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

    I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?
