How can I restore all my apps after the Windows10 1903 update?

I installed the Windows 10 1903 update yesterday, when it was done after over 2 hours I couldn't sign in it would not load my profile even though it had my initials when the screen loaded. I reset my Microsoft password and still could not get in, I turned the machine off and left it for a while. When I restarted it said preparing windows and then it did let me sign in. Then when I have signed in I see it has deleted all my MS Office files, all my photos and my family history files. I click on start and the apps screen appears it is about half the size it was before, I click on the apps in the start menu and a white line appears under them and nothing will happen, I followed the instructions on resetting the apps on two of them and nothing happens. I cannot open the Lenovo app where all the information on my laptop is serial number etc, the calendar and Microsoft Store will not open either. Also it has cleared all the bookmarks that I had saved in my favourites. I had recently backed my files up but now when I try to open them it is saying some of the files are corrupted and will not open them. How do I get all the apps reinstalled?

    :)

Windows Home 10 update from 1803 to 1903

    I have windows 10 x64 home edition, version 1803.

I'm trying to update it to the new onw, version 1903, but my pc freezes every time when the installation is going to finish (around 80%).

I tried to update the OS in different ways:

    1. Start > Settings > Update
& Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.
If updates are available, install them.
    2. Download the Update Assistant
    3. Download the Media Creation Tool 1903
The result is always the same.

    No errors, only pc freezing.

What do you suggest to do?

    windows10 update

    Hi Harsana,

One of the possible reasons why your PC fails to boot into normal mode is there were broken components on the boot configuration data of your system. To isolate your concern regarding your Windows 10, we suggest that you perform the following steps
to trigger Safe Mode through the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) option. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • Improper shutdown process
      • Turn on your computer. When the Windows logo is visible, unplug the power source of your computer. Perform this step three times.
      • On the fourth time that you turn on your computer, just simply wait for the
Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) window to appear.
    2. On the Choose an option screen, select
Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and click
    Restart
    .

    3. Once your computer restarts, you will see a list of options. Press the
F4 key to start your computer in Safe Mode.

We also recommend that you perform a system restore after booting into safe mode.
This option takes your PC back to an earlier point in time. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made. To do this, follow the steps
    below:

    • Right-click the Start button, and then select Control Panel.
    • Search Control Panel for Recovery.
    • Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
    • Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish.
Let us know if the solution above works for you.

How can I restore all my apps after the Windows10 1903 update?

System Restore & Backup For Windows10

What I mean is that in Windows7 there is a facility for auto-backup at certain dates (especially when Windows performs an update) from where one can restore the system to an earlier and trouble free state.

I noticed that there is no such auto system in Windows10.

    Thank you.
