Windows 10: How can I restore full internet connectivity?

A short time ago I deleted McAfee from my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop. A few days after that my video card acted up - system check reported corrupted driver files. For some reason these files could not be replaced, deleted or repaired and so I did a refresh of Windows 11. Since then I have weird internet connectivity: the icon on the Taskbar shows as no connection but Diagnose Network Problems reports no issues and a good connection. I can play World of Warships online but cannot download anything from the MS store - including mandatory Windows upgrades and fixes - becuase no connectivity.

  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

  Select "Internet Explorer connection"

HTC 7 Mozart mobile not connecting to internet

If you cannot connect to Wi-Fi or use the Mobile Data on your HTC 7 Mozart device, we suggest that you follow the steps given on
Lumia troubleshooting and repair. After each step, check to see if your issue has been fixed.
