Windows 10: How can I restore my admin access?

Hi! I am a student and while I was trying to install a version of zoom I managed to terminate my admin access for my account and I’ve been having trouble enabling it. I can’t download any applications now that this has happened and it’s critical I get this fixed ASAP.

Hi,

Here are a few steps you can try to regain access to your main admin account:

1. Use System Restore: You can try using System Restore to roll back your system to a previous point in time when your main admin account was accessible. To do this, boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and type "rstrui.exe" to launch System Restore. Select a restore point prior to when you made changes to the drive letters, and follow the prompts to restore your system.
   
2. Use a password reset disk: If you created a password reset disk for your main admin account before you encountered this issue, you can use it to reset your password and gain access. To do this, boot your computer from the password reset disk, follow the prompts, and create a new password for your account.
   
3. Use the command prompt: You can try using the command prompt to reset your main admin account password. To do this, boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and type "net user [username] *". Replace "[username]" with your main admin account's username. Follow the prompts to create a new password for your account.
   

If none of these steps work, you may need to consider reinstalling Windows.
