Windows 10: How can I restore my photos app?

At some point whenever I tried to open it, an error message would pop up, eventually I deleted the app, but whenever I tried to reinstall it through the Microsoft store, that resulted in an error message as well. I tried to reinstall it via Microsoft PowerShell as one of the threads here suggested, but failed again see attached picture. Please help me restore my app, I don't want to reset my computer entirely, since it contains documents the I may be unable to recover later. System - Windows 10 Pro.

In this case, we suggest restoring your Photo app library to default. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer (you can open it from Start Menu, Search or taskbar).
• Click on View tab.
• Click on Navigation pane and choose Show libraries.
• In the left pane right-click on Libraries and click on
  Restore default libraries.
• Open your Photos app again.

This issue could be caused due to a corrupted system file. I would suggest you try these steps and check:

I would suggest you try the restore library option and check if it helps. Please back up all the files in the library before trying this, just to make sure you don’t lose any files. Refer these steps:

• Open Windows explorer
• In the left panel, locate Library and right click on it
• Click “restore default libraries” option
• Check if the issue persists.

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
