  2. third sata drive not bootable ?

Exactly. On the where do you want to install Windows screen, it has the list of all 3 drives, but when I choose the new drive is when it says it cannot install because the drive is not a bootable drive. If I select one of the other drives with XP installed it doesn't give that message.

How can I restore the bootability of a drive, using the windows install of a separate drive?

in short: How can I restore the bootability of a drive, using the windows install of a separate drive?

    In more detail:

I have an m.2 drive dedicated for Windows, browser and various installed programs. This drive one day stopped booting.

I spent considerable amount of time trying every trick in the book to restore the boot files but after each attempt I end up with some variation of the blue screen of death.

None of the recovery options worked at all besides the CMD window.

Today - in order to at least get a safety copy of my documents - I got a regular SSD drive, used a clean install of Windows to have a working OS on this functioning SSD drive.

I'm wondering if I could use the currently working iteration of Windows on the separate SSD to fix the boot abilities of the m.2 drive so I can return to using Windows on that drive, where every program and application is installed and configured and ready to go?

Note: all my attempts to repair the m.2 drive's Windows UEFI files via CMD were met with blue screens despite supposedly should be working.

Alternatively, if I clone the m.2 drive, will the clone be able to boot?
