Windows 10: How can I return to the comfort of a dark background, again?

I recently lost my internet connection for 20 minutes and when I came back on-line the black background I love was gone. Everything came screaming out of the screen in hues of stark white and neon bright. I have managed to re-enable the dark background for most sites, but not for the desktop control bar or the start menu. . .any idea's? Thanks

Background picture turning dark automatically in Windows 10

• Does the same issue occur when you set a default picture as the background? Have you tried changing it to a different picture?
  
• Which version of Windows is installed on your machine?
• Does the background picture gets dark? Or is it the dark mode that gets enabled automatically?
  
• Were there any changes made to the computer prior to the issue?

According to the description, it seems like the Dark mode is getting enabled. I would suggest you to change the settings to Light mode and check if the issue persists. If yes, kindly check with the steps listed below and see if it works.

Method 1: Update Display drivers.

The issue could be occur due to the outdated display drivers that are installed on your machine. So, I would suggest you to update the drivers from Device Manager. To do that,

• Right click on the Start menu and click on
  Device Manager.
• Navigate to Display adapters and expand it.
• Right click on the driver to choose Update driver.
  
• If you've already on the latest driver build, you may visit your PC manufacturer's website to download and install the display drivers.

Method 2: Create a new user profile.

The issue could be occurring due to user profile corruption as well, so you may create a new user profile and see if that works. To create a new user account, you may refer the article on

Comfortably PC gaming from the couch suggestions.

Well guys I would like to hear some good suggestions for comfortably PC gaming from the couch. I have searched this forum and others and I can't believe that in 2014 there is still not a good way of doing this.

So please whether your suggestion is an Xbox controller, flat portable table top, or you have pictures of a custom design.... Shoot over your suggestions. Because PC gaming comfortably from the couch is on my new years resolution list. I will find away to do it this year.

Dark background for emails?

Sorry to say that the emails don have dark background.. we have to live by that. Btw, its a nice choice to have dark background for mails so that battery also is less utilized.
