Windows 10: How Can I Save Changes to Files in my Program Files?

Recently, I've been trying to save changes to a file in my program files, but when I try, it says that I "don't have permission to save in this location," even though I am the owner of my PC. Of course, this is Microsoft, so the error message was not helpful at all, telling me to "contact the administrator to obtain permission." How do I allow myself to make changes in the Program Files?

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

 

All files are saving as PDF

Hello Microsoft Community!

I am having an issue that just started today, very strange and annoying. All of my files are saving in PDF format, no matter the original program or the "Save As" selection. It is still showing up in the file explorer as a PDF. Below are a few steps that I have taken to attempt to resolve the issue. If anyone has any suggestion or insight that may be helpful, I am all ears. Thank you!

• Attempted conversion from the original program and also Adobe - no luck with this.
  
• Attempted to save the file in a different location, both cloud and local. No resolve.
  
• Ran anti-virus to check for anything harmful. Clean scan.
  
• Ran SFC to check for corrupt files. Scan located and repaired files.
  
• Went into the default program settings. No changes were need there.
  
• My pc and all programs are up to date.
  
  Again, any help or suggestion is helpful.

Are my Registry Files all legitimate programs?

Isn't there a web tool whereby I can check if programs listed in my REGISTRY FILES are legitimate programs?
