You have no idea what files have been copied where as you randomly interrupted the complex process.

You can freely download Windows isos and thus create Windows bootable disks.
See the Tutorial section- search for iso, bootable, and you will find tutorials on downloading an iso, and creating a bootable medium.

  3. Hey. I'd just like to say thank you to everyone so far for all the help and support. It is much appreciated. Especially you dalchina. To be honest, I'm very much swimming in murky waters, so thank you for making it simple and easy to do.

Anyways, today as I wait for my harddrive enclosure. I attempted to do the Windows 10 Update Assistant, but it says I need more Disk Space (8GB). I got rid of 9GB from my HDD, but no luck.

I'm guessing perhaps I should use Power Data Recovery? Damaged Partition Recovery or Lost Partition Recovery? At this point is this computer beyond repair?

I wouldn't assume you partitions have been damaged or your data needs a recovery program.

If you boot from Kyhi's disk you should be able to explore your internal disk and view your files and copy them to an external disk.
You need to rescue any data you haven't backed up first, by whatever means you prefer. Don't start using 3rd party programs for that unnecessarily.

If you can't configure your PC to boot from a boot disk. then that would be a problem, as you need to do that to do a clean install/

For a clean install, you need to download the iso, then create a bootable disk. You then boot your PC from that disk and commence the installation procedure.

(Or burn the iso to a DVD if you have a DVD drive)

To learn from this: you need a good backup strategy, and to start using disk imaging routinely so you can easily recover.

  5. Hey, I am going to attempt the clean install. However, just as I turned on broken PC, it took me to a blue screen with troubleshoot and the option to reset the PC (and keep the files).

I tried this and it said "the drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again."

If you clean install properly, you boot from installation media (not your internal drive) and wipe everything related to Windows (but not any data partition.

Why are you still booting from your corrupted internal hard disk?

  7. Hello again.

I'm currently using the Windows 10 Media Creation tool to do a clean install...

However, when I get to - which type of installation do you want? I click on upgrade (and the upgrade option isn't available) and then the custom option where it lists partitions...

Do I format or delete a partition to continue?
(I click on it and it says: this partition might contain important files or applications from your computer manufacturer. If you format this partition, any data stored on it will be lost.)

    Partition 4 is 439GB.

Not sure what to do next?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

You need to delete all partitions related to the Windows OS. This means you leave any data partitions. Hopefully you can distinguish the two by their name.

You may feel more confident with this using a partition manager boot disk, but that's more steps.
(I've just been thru this myself resolving an issue).

Note: if you follow our recommendations, you will have made a current disk image (e.g. Macrium Reflect (free) ) before doing this: that way, you always have a way back if you make a mistake.

  9. Okay. So I delete all partitions and leave only the Recovery partitions? And leave the Drive 1 Unallocated Space (which I cannot delete).

No. You delete all Windows partitions.
    For UEFI installation that's

EFI, a 16Mb partition, your Windows partition, and any Recovery partitions without a label (usually < say 800Mb, typically 450Mb).

Keep all the partitions whose labels you recognise as partitions you created which contain your data.

Please, as you are uncertain, create a disk image before you do something you may regret, using Macrium Reflect (free) + external disk for image storage.

  11. Okay, deleted it all apart from my USB one. Currently installing windows. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for everything so far, Dalchina.
