    I am trying to schedule a full scan out of Windows Defender. I have found an article that claims to have an answer, it's below, but screen looks different. The answer is telling me to go into an existing task, but there isn't one. It's blank.     I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

    I suggest you to follow the Methods below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with system. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your System
    Maintenance.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
    • Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter.


    And also ensure that the Task Scheduler service is running.


    • Follow the steps to check the service.

    • Press Windows + R, type Services.msc

    • Select the Task scheduler service and restart the service and check if it helps.

    scheduled computer scan

    It is not listed in the Task Scheduler library and never has been. It has always worked without being in that location on two (2) other pcs.

    I schedule a scan to run daily, weekly, monthly whatever to run at a certain hour. Not my first rodeo

    If I schedule a scan to run daily, it will run the first day and never again.

    It won't run again because I scheduled the scan to run daily at 12pm. It ran yesterday the 18th but not today the 19th. Experience tells me since the problem started on 11/03/18 that it will not run tomorrow. That's three times to tech support and about
    15 times of scheduling.

    Last test result from 01/18/19 at 12[m was completed.

    Like I said in my original question, I have used this application for six years on different machines. I know what I'm doing.

    My question remains is there a setting on W7 SP1 that is hindering the execution of a scheduled scan
