No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

  3. Win 10 Task Manager and Memory Issue

Glaring errors in Karina's answer above.

To begin with, the percent memory usage on the User tab is the total in use, not only for the user shown in the list, so most of that memory is system processes, buffers and the like, the seemingly erroneous relation to total RAM isn't meaningful, and your
issue is a non-issue. Likely all of the messing with drivers is unnecessary, and may be dangerous.

If you look at the Processes tab (be sure to expand "More details" at the bottom) you'll see the same total percent, and many tasks showing their individual usage. If you click on the heading, the largest tasks will sort to the top. If you sort on the Name
column, your user tasks will be listed first.

The command that didn't work for you has typographical errors in her reply, which is why it didn't work.

What she wrote as "f indstr / s " should be "findstr /s " (followed by the tag string you're looking for). (I didn't try it, but suspect the result may be messier and harder to interpret than she suggests)

I certainly do appreciate when experts help out here, but proofreading and care seems worthwhile when dealing with end users. And recommending a cannon to swat a fly is not helpful.

How can I see the absolute real total memory an app is using in Task Manager?

Task Manager - Memory Compression Process?

    Hello,

In my main system I have a process going that I don't understand. I have 2 computers sitting side by side and when I located this anomaly in my main system, I checked my 2nd system and it showed a different set of information.
I will post the screen snaps here below of each.

This first one is from my main computer I use continuously.
This image shows what seems to be nothing going on with the Memory Compression and I wonder why it is even in the task listings.

This second one is my Security Surveillance system running 24/7
It definitely shows a different set of memory numbers on this image of the Memory Compression. Much more then the above image.

Do I need this listing in my system. In the main system task it looks like it is doing nothing, yet in my security system computer, it has much more information given. What does this task do for the computer?

    Thanks for your time
