Hello,I have the problem that on a 1 computer when the screen is locked it always shows me that I have 1 unread mail in Mail APP. This is annoying. On other computers it works without problems and all access the same hotmail.de account. Is there a way to clear/reset this without having to set everything up again?Cheers Robert

Not receiving emails in Outlook 2013 except when toggling offline mode

Thank you Ken. I forgot to mention I did go into that and updated the send/receive to every 1 minute when I was troubleshooting and it is still at every 1 minute when I checked again. But that didn't seem to fix the problem. I did see that under the send/receive groups there is a "disable scheduled send/receive" which was check marked, not sure why. I unchecked it and I was receiving emails for a couple minutes then the emails stopped coming in again.

I did click on the "update folder" option under the send and receive tab and that forces I guess a refresh on the folders which then downloads emails. But it only works on demand and doesn't fix Outlook not downloading emails automatically.

So it seems I can force emails by toggling offline mode and "update folder" and "inbox" under send/receive groups. There seems to be ways to check emails on demand that work not including the send/receive button on the home tab. When I perform one of these on demand email checking options then Outlook seems to kick in and start checking emails automatically for a set time before it stops receiving emails automatically again.

On another note, I do see that every minute at the bottom where the blue bar is next to the word "Connected" that the word send/receive pops up so I know Outlook is checking emails but in the end emails just don't come through.

    Any other suggestions? Thanks!

One more thing to note is that if I can get Outlook to work for a little bit of time, if I close and reopen Outlook it goes back to not receiving emails automatically. I can send 10 test emails, and when I reopen Outlook it doesn't download them. Only when I toggle offline mode or perform the above on demand forced email steps is when I can jump start Outlook to make it work for a certain amount of time.

I also tested to see if I could auto receive emails in offline mode using the send/receive groups where it says "schedule automatic send/receive every 1 min when outlook is offline" and even that doesn't work.

    Automatic Network Connection

I only want to automatically connect to ONE wifi network, my home wifi. However, I keep getting knocked offline because my computer is automatically connecting to ALL nearby networks listed, ones that are not “known” so I cannot forget/remove them via
network settings. I have unchecked the “automatically connect” box from all of the unwanted networks; however, the moment I minimize the network list the boxes are automatically rechecked. There has to be a solution. Please help.

How can I set Outlook to offline/online mode automatically depending on network connection?

    Windows 10 + Office 365: Outlook automatically in offline-mode

    Hi,

I'm a tech on a site with tens of thousands of computers running Windows 10 (Version 10.0.17763.1282) and I just got a call from a customer saying Outlook is in offline-mode. This is easy to fix, I just go to "Send / Receive" and exit offline-mode and everything works again. However, customer claims that Outlook automatically toggles Offline-mode on and have done so multiple times last week. This is confirmed by my colleagues.

After some research at Google the answer seem to be that the customer is guaranteed to toggle it themselves using a hotkey, probably without them knowing they do so. However it does seem unlikely because this machine is only used for Outlook and the customer is working primarily on another machine.

I ask you if you know any reason at all for Outlook toggling Offline-mode. If not, are there any logs I can take a closer look at? Is the only solution to install a keylogger and see if the user is indeed triggering it with the hotkeys?

Edit: Clarification: Outlook is open at all times and then spontaneously Offline-mode is activated. When opening Outlook it is always online.

    Kind regards from Sweden
