How can I set up VPN, with password, at home?

    Hi,

I was wondering if there exists a tutorial or similar that show me how I can set up a VPN, with password, using a laptop running Windows 10 at home.

I'd like to connect to this VPN at home using another laptop, also running Windows 10, at work.

This was at least possible in Windows 7. Can it be done in 10?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 VPN Group Name and Password?

I need to establish a VPN that uses a group name and password as well as a personal user name and password. I am unable to find a way to set this up in the Windows 10 VPN Settings.

    How is this done?

Setting up a new internet connection

    Rey,

I appreciate your assistance, but you are not answering my basic question.

When in network settings and trying to set up a new connection you set up a new person with an

password, I set up an 8 character password, but when I click on that name properties it shows a 15 character password. I have no idea what the real password is! How do I find out what the real
    password is?

I have the settings for a vpn. My concern is with the 8 character password that somehow becomes a 15 character password. When I try to utilize the new name with a vpn, it fails because my 8 character password is apparently now 15 characters, which I did
    not put in!

As far as I can understand this is not what I am looking for.

1 - My intention is not to access the computer at home. It is to access my home internet. Hence Teamviewer is not the solution.

2 - The same goes for OpenVPN. As far as I can see it only gives you a VPN to "somewhere". Once again I need it to my private network due to two reasons:

A - I need access to a radio that is connected to my Wi-Fi at home (on a 192.168.x.x address)

B - I have a lot of spare time when at work, and my employer do not need to see everything I do on internet when I'm not at work.

I've tried to follow this YouTube video (since it is somewhat similar to the method I used in Windows 7) however I get all kinds of error messages when trying to connect...

You need to access a remote computer/server for what you are looking for. You can't just run your work PC on your home network.

I might have been unprecise (since I'm no computer guru at all) but isn't a VPN running from a computer at home such a server?

I've done this the last two years with Windows 7 and was able to connect both, iPhone, iPad and my laptop to my VPN server at home. Checking the IP address, I was using while connected did not show my workplace IP but my IP address at home.

Also, while connected through my iPhone I was able to use an app, tune to 192.168.x.x and access the mentioned radio and listen to and operate it while connected to my workplace Wi-Fi.

Well, your device may show your home IP, but you are still using your work network. Surprised your network admin, did not see your home IP address on his logs and thought it was some kind of attack, if you were using it that much. VPN is for protecting the data between 2 points, but the connection still appears on the firewall/router as a connection.

I know what would happen if I tried that from work.... I wouldn't be getting a free pass like Hilary Clinton is.

How to set up a VPN that iOS 10 devices can connect to?: Hi, Using Windows 10 I've set up a VPN server at home.
