Windows 10: How can I solve random WMI Provider Host cpu usage spikes?

The problem that I am currently facing is random freezing that usually lasts a few seconds. This issue happens no matter what I am doing. What I ended up doing was monitoring my task manager during these freezes and I found that the problem was random CPU usage spikes from WMI Provider Host. Before I reached out here I googled what things I could try to solve it. I tried one thing which was to run sfc /scannow which did find problematic files that it fixed. Nothing. The issue continued. I then tried to restart the service through my command prompt. After, I ran into another problem which was s

WMI Provider Host

I have a desktop PC running Windows 10 that, several times a day, spikes up to 100% CPU usage. The culprit is WMI Provider Host, but I can't work out what's causing it to use so much.

It's been happening for weeks, and has had several reboots. Restarting services doesn't help. I tried to locate the source of the issue using the PID as detailed here - http://www.thewindowsclub.com/wmi-provider-host-high-cpu-usage - but it only pointed
to itself. It's causing major issues, rendering the PC practically unusable at random times.

 

WMI Host Provider Regularly Using Up CPU

On my new laptop, about every ten minutes, WMI Host Provider will suddenly start using about 20-30% of my CPU. It lasts for about a minute and then stops. This can be annoying as it happens even when the laptop is on idle. There was a post about this earlier
and the solution for that person seemed to be going to event viewer and checking the WMI Host Provider operational logs for errors. I followed the same steps, but during and after the spikes in CPU usage, no errors appear to indicate that there is some program
causing the CPU usage.
