Windows 10: How can I stop a new tab from opening?

Sometimes I doubt that clicking will allow me to go to a new web site without a new tab so I right-click and select "Open in New Window" or "Open in new InPrivate Window" depending on what I am trying to do.But I might forget. I can't deal with tabs. Once there is more than one tab I can't remember that it's there, so I always deal with windows.

Chrome does not do that. Problem is, you do a search, and click on a search link, it opens a new tab, and leaves the bing seach tab open. And after a while, you can have very many Bing search tabs open

You need an extension for that:

Open Link in Same Tab - Chrome Web Store

Or as suggested just drag the link. In my case dragging a link to above the address bar to the right of the current tab opens the link in a new tab.

In my opinion it is not useful to be directed way from the site that you are currently browsing when you click a link but if that's what you prefer then the linked extension works.

1) Open web browser... brings up list of book marks

2) Options -> Go to -> New web page

3) enter www.newtab.co.uk, then press Go to

4) Press arrow icon in bottom-right

5) Options -> Subscribe to web feed

6) Select "New Tab"



That's the set up.. Now to use it



1) Open google.com

2) Select Options -> Go to -> Web feeds

3) Select "New tab" from the feeds list

4) Select "Open new tab" from list

5) Select "Open new tab" from top of web page

Now there are two windows



Try deleting the feed from your phone, then following those steps.. let me know how you get on
