Windows 10: How can I stop my keyboard from automatically typing independently?

Hello:I use Windows 10 & this problem happened about a year ago & my fix was easy & quick. However, I forgot how I fixed my concern. My laptop will automatically start typing the number 6 on its own & it will not stop unless I intervene to stop it. This re-occurred today as I was on a website's forum in between typing in a thread. The auto-typing also occurs in the URL field & it also happens in the "Type Search Here Field" on the lower left of my screen where I would type to search for a file or Apps. This also occurs when I attempt to start my computer. I am unable to ty

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

After typing the first letter/number, the cursor stops flashing and nothing else will type in.

As an initial step of troubleshooting, I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard and check if the issue persists

Follow the steps below to open the on screen keyboard.

• Type on screen keyboard in the search bar and select
  On screen keyboard from the search items.

If you are able to type properly using the on screen keyboard then, it might be issue related to the keyboard hardware.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to run the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press
  Enter key.

  In the Troubleshooting window, click on
  View all option on the left pane.

If the issue persists, using on screen keyboard as well, then it might be an issue related to a third-party application or might be virus issue.
