Windows 10: How can I stop onedrive from downloading pictures from Camera Roll to PC?

Hi, I have enabled Camera Upload on my OneDrive mobile App (Samsung S8) in order to store all photographs to the cloud. I have purchased MS Office and received the 1TB OneDrive storage option.


My problem is that I do not want my Windows PC to download my Camera Roll photos. I want them only on-line (or better on-demand). I right-click on the Camera Roll folder and select "Free up Space" and although initially all icons turn to "cloud" (meaning that the file is only available on-line) after a while all picture icons are turned into the "green round checkbox" icon which means that the file is still available off-line).


I also tried from settings to "Choose Folders" that will be available on my PC but it does not let unselect "Camera Roll" folder because it says it is an important folder and I must go to "auto-save".


What am I doing wrong?

Onedrive camera roll.


I have a folder in onedrive named camera roll. The last 2 days I took pictures with my iphone (5s). Yesterday my iphone onedrive app put the pictures in a new folder named camera roll 1, today it put pictures in a new folder named camera roll 2. Can anybody explain why this is happening? I did not create these folders.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps for arranging the camera pictures in recent order and check if it helps.

• Press “Windows+E” it will open file explorer.
• Go to “This PC” and click on “pictures folder”.
• Then click on “camera roll folder”.
• And right click on the empty space and select “sort by” option.
• Then select ascending option.

I installed OneDrive on a new laptop -- but Camera Roll is not sync down to my PC

Hi,

I received a new Win 10 laptop and installed OneDrive on it. However, the OneDrive folder on my PC does not sync the Camera Roll folder. I have clicked "Choose Folders" but the Camera Roll is even listed for me to select. Please help! It's a pain trying
to organize pictures via the OneDrive web access.
