How can I stop windows accelerating the change in volume when I press DOWN volume several times. It seems to jump two steps at a time for the first 5 presses or so then 10 every single press after that. It's annoying and unnecessary - fine, accelerate the changes if I HOLD the button down, but not when I press it repeatedly.Every other key on the keyboard repeats sensibly: if I press "X" six times, I get six "X"s typed in - it does not assume I just want loads of them and type dozens at a time for me.How can I turn off this stupid and unwanted "feature" and revert to sensible, predictable and

try just changing the volume within windows.

 

Volume adjustment acceleration

When I adjust the volume (using the key on my keyboard) it goes up/down by 2%. But if I keep pressing it to say change the volume by 30% it sometimes starts jumping down by factors of 10%, which then means I massively overshoot my desired volume. Is there
a way to stop this??

Disable annoying acceleration for sound volume keys

I'm having the same issue. Mine isn't a complete answer, but I did find a way to change the keyboard's "repeat" setting. Hopefully it will help.





Like IDizor, my work-around is to avoid tapping the volume keys, and instead hold them down. When I do that the volume goes up and down by 2% steps without accelerating. But, when I tap the volume keys the volume moves at 2%, then 10%, which is very annoying.
