My computer is always low on memory, this wsappx is using 25%, even when I'm not using edge or anything else?

    wsappx preventing windows from starting

Another video with task manager on the screen as well.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z9XD1b_sTj29nQsA5_kC61KQqIVqxryA/view?usp=sharing

I verified that I had done all of the steps in the referred links, the only thing that helps is disabling wsappx either through the registry or gpedit, or ending the wsappx task once Windows starts.

Something that may be helpful, as mentioned, when Windows starts there is 2-3 wsappx task running. When I force stop the "correct" one, I can then interact with Windows, but there is still 1 or 2 wsappx task running and I can operate as expected, even accessing Windows Store and XboxPCApp.

I'm now going to try and find out which is the correct wsappx that needs to be stopped.

Of the tasks I know, 2 are:

wsappx - ClipSVC Client License Service (ClipSVC) and wsappx AppXSvc AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC) I do not know what the 3rd task is yet.

  3. Fixing wsappx high memory and CPU usage

    Hello ,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Thanks for your sharing, that will help others with the same problem and provide us with new ideas and methods to solve similar problems.

Here are some information may help you about this:

"wsappx" is a process in the Windows operating system that's related to the Microsoft Store and Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps. This process manages the installation, updates, and maintenance of UWP apps on your system.

The "wsappx" process is responsible for tasks such as:

    1. Installing and Updating Apps: It handles the installation and updating of apps from the Microsoft Store. When you download or update an app, "wsappx" is involved in managing these processes.
    2. License Management: It manages the licensing and permissions for UWP apps, ensuring that you have the necessary rights to use them.
    3. AppX Deployment Service: "wsappx" is part of the AppX Deployment Service, which is responsible for installing and managing UWP app packages.
    4. App Management: It can also handle tasks like starting and stopping UWP apps as needed.
It's worth noting that the "wsappx" process can sometimes consume system resources, especially during app updates or installations. If you're experiencing high CPU or disk usage due to "wsappx," it's generally because it's performing necessary tasks related to app management.

If you find that "wsappx" is causing performance issues on your system, here are a few steps you can consider:

    1. Give It Time: Sometimes, "wsappx" might be using resources temporarily due to ongoing app updates or installations. It should settle down once these tasks are completed.
    2. Check for Pending Updates: Make sure that all your installed apps are up to date. Sometimes, pending updates can cause "wsappx" to be more active.

Or check for apps update in Microsoft Store:

Open Microsoft Store, click "Library" in the lower left corner, then you will see the installed applications, click "Get updates" to see if there are any available update, and click the "Update" button on the right to update.
    3. Limit Background App Activity: You can go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and disable background activity for specific apps. This might reduce the impact of "wsappx" and other app-related processes.
If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

How can I stop wsappx from using 25% of my system... when I am not even doing anything?...

wsappx is using 50% of the CPU

    Hi,

Wsappx is a Windows Store program that is trawling your computer for all installed apps and telling Microsoft what programs you have, what versions etc. If it’s using more than 50% of your CPU and causes trouble on your
device, we would recommend that you disable it. You may follow these steps:

    • Go to Control Panel.
    • Look for Administrative Tools.
    • Select Computer Management then Services, you will see this entry:

Windows Store Service (WSService) "Provides infrastructure..." [Status is blank] "Manual (Trigger Start)" "Local System"
    • Now you may disable it.

Feel free to contact us if you have further inquiries.
