How can I transfer my license from older system to upgraded CPU + Motherboard?

I have two copies of Windows 10: 1) Windows 10 Pro which was originally Windows 7 Pro Upgrade, which Microsoft sold a long time ago for like $30. I had it installed on a MacBook, but barely used it. Simply activated it using the key, upgraded to 10, logged into it a few times, and that's it.

    2) Windows 10 Educational edition which I have on my desktop. Activated it using a key, and also with a Microsoft account (which used a GMail email account). When I reinstalled it last week with build 2004, for some reason it wouldn't let me add the GMail account during the installation, but I've not tried it afterwards.

I'm planning on upgrading the desktop with Win 10 Edu to a new motherboard and CPU in the near future. Which of the two Windows would I be able to reuse with the upgraded system, and how should I go about doing it?

How to upgrade motherboard and CPU without reinstalling Windows 10?

I would like to upgrade the motherboard and CPU of my computer, which runs Windows 10. However, I would prefer to avoid reinstalling the operating system. The OS is installed to an M.2 NVMe drive on an AM3+ socket motherboard, and I will be upgrading to
    an AM4 socket motherboard.

    • Is there any procedure I have to perform to prepare the computer for the new motherboard? Should I uninstall any drivers or motherboard-specific software in advance?
    • How do I ensure that my license key is accepted by the new board? I made a digital purchase of Windows 10 Pro from the Microsoft store for this computer, and want to make sure the license transfers to the new board when I upgrade.
    • Are there any caveats to the process, things I should watch out for, or possible performance issues that may be caused by old configuration files or leftover drivers?

    All help is greatly appreciated.

ACTIVATION AFTER I CHANGED MOTHERBOARD AND CPU

It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its a retail license, learn how to reactivate:
