Windows 10: How can I transfer my Windows 10 Pro License from my old Surface Pro 5 to my Surface Pro 8...

My old Surface Pro 5 has Windows Pro. In fact I recently upgraded it to Windows 11 Pro. My newer Surface Pro 8 has Window 11 but the only home edition. Ideally I would like the Pro edition on my SP8 and the home edition on my SP5. Is there a way of doing this?

I have Windows phones, and have had a Surface 2 tablet for the wife. Even though it was/is a Windows 8 NT OS, she is quite happy with it. I have a Surface 2 Pro, that was 8.1, but I went to Win 10 early on. Using it as I type.
I bought a new Surface Pro (Just the tablet, no keyboard, as the wife does not like the keyboards) I bought it for the wife and it does have Win 10 Pro. I bought a i-5, 4 Gig of Ram, 128 Gig SSD. So far (5 days) she loves it, but she feels guilty and wants me to get one. I am waiting on a Christmas deal to pop-up on a i-5 version with more memory and a keyboard. I don't really need it but.......

 

Windows 10 Pro transfer to new Surface 7 Pro

Was the Windows 10 Pro a retail purchased license or was Windows installed on the Surface 3 when purchased or as a free upgrade form a Windows that was on the surface 3 when purchased?

If the latter then it is OEM and tied to the motherboard in the Surface 3 and can not be transferred.

If it was the retail purchased license it has transfer rights.

 

Windows 10 PRO license transfer

I have a WIndows 10 PRO license on my Surface Pro 4. The Surface Pro 4 suffered a broken screen and I bought a Surface Pro 6 (Came with Windpows 10 Home). I cannot use the old system. Can I xfer the Windows 10 Pro license to the Surface Pro 6 system?

I am now running Windows 10 Insider Preview on the new machine (Surface Pro 6)
