Windows 10: How can l resolve no output device installed

My laptop pc is writing no audio, no audio output device installed

I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

2. Select "playback devices".

3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

5. Save the changes.

• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue?
• Is Windows pre-installed on your device/ upgraded from previous operating system?
• What exactly happens when you try to update the Sound card drivers in Device Manager?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated sound card drivers on your device. Try the below troubleshooting steps if not yet tried and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check the Device status in the Device Manager. The yellow exclamation mark provides an indication of a device's current status and could mean that there is a system resource conflict, a driver issue,
or any number of other things. Refer to these steps to open Device Manager.

• Press Windows and X keys from the keyboard.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Sound, video and game controller.
• Right click on the drivers, click on
  Properties and check for the device status.
• Also, under Driver tab, try to update the driver and check if it helps.
