Windows 10: How can mirror my laptop screen to tv with HDMI

I connected my HDMI cord, one end to my tv and the other to my laptop, the tv displayed my laptop screen for a second and then went blank immediately. I repeated the process severally and same thing kept happening. I have checked to confirm that the cord is very okay and there's no loose connection. I have also restarted my laptop, but no progress. I played a video on my laptop and the audio came perfectly from my tv but the video did not display, the tv was showing no signal. I have also set the display to duplicate screen, but it's still not solved. What can I do pls?

Mirroring laptop screen to TV - works once only.

I found connecting to the TV hit and miss. I just did it and it took at least 6 tries. I found it sometimes makes a difference whether the laptop starts the connections first or the TV. All I can do is show how I do it and hope that helps.

BTW, my Samsung TV is ten years old and doesn't have Bluetooth. That is OK because I connect to my Samsung [BD]J6300 Blue-Ray player instead.

On the Blue-Ray player I open the Screen Mirroring app that comes with it.

On the laptop I open the notification area on the right side of the screen and...

• Turn on Bluetooth if it is not on
• Select Project
• On the bottom select Connect to a wireless display
• I then select [BD]J6300 from the list
• Within 30 seconds it will connect and display

 

Windows10: not able to mirror laptop screen to tv screen

Hello everyone.

I recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and since then i am not able to mirror my laptop's screen to my tv. Earlier with windows 8.1, i used to mirror my screen via hdmi cable and then duplicate my screen from the projecting options. But now
when i click windows button + p and select duplicate, my laptop screen shrinks to 800 x 600 resolution and there is no change on the television screen. My hdmi cable is fine, in fact i have tried several different cables to rule out any abnormality on part
of the cable. Moreover, the first thing i did after upgrading was trying to mirror my screen and have trying since then but no success.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

Mirror laptop to TV problem

When I mirror to my panasonic tv my laptop shows perfectly on tv screen but my laptop screen goes black. It has worked ok in the past so dont know what I have done to cause this. My laptop is a HP pavilion using win10. Any suggestions? Thanks
