Windows 10: How can my 14 year old son leave family safety without my permission?

My 14 year old son has a Win 11 lap top. I am the admin user. He is a standard user on the lap top in my family group able to sign in. This morning at 10 am he found a link in family safety to leave the family group, which he decided to try out. He tells me that he was told this needs the organiser's action, but was then straight away removed from the family group. I was notified and he also emailed me at work to say that this had happened. I issued a new invitation to join the group, and joined him remotely, which he subsequently verified from his laptop. However, his screen limits are

Why can my 14 year old Leave my Family Account?

Despite it saying that only adults can leave a family account my 14 year old's Microsoft account clearly has the menu option stating; Leave Family. When this is clicked it then provides the options to continue or not.

I want this removed as it circumvents me trying to remove access so he visits the real world!

 

Family Safety screen time stuck on old settings

• I set up family safety settings under windows 8.
• Configured screen time options to for only daytime, so as to prevent my son from using the computer too early or too late in the day.
• I've upgraded the computer to Windows 10 (live update, not a fresh install).
• Now I want to change the screen time settings for my son. Nothing I have attempted (short of clean install of Windows) has worked.
  • Changing time settings doesn't work
  • Turning off Screen Time doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding his account from family safety doesn't help
  • Removing/Adding the computer from family safety doesn't help
• I don't see a Windows Family Safety service running on the machine, which is odd.
• I really don't want to do a fresh Windows install.

Any suggestions are welcome.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• Have you tried to log out or restart from the child's computer and logging in to the computer?
• Are you able to see the child account in the Family Safety settings after removing it?

I suggest you to refer to the steps below to remove the child account from the family safety account and also turn on
Activity reporting.
