Windows 10: How come when I press "FN" button and any of the "f1 to 12" keys nothing works and happens?

    How come when I press "FN" button and any of the "f1 to 12" keys nothing works and happens?


    When I press the FN key at the bottom of my keyboard while pressing the like the screen brightness function key above, which is F5, nothing happens. This goes for any of the F1 to 12 keys. It seemed to happen after I re-downloaded and installed Windows 10 again.

    New laptop FN keys not working [Solved]

    Exactly what I was used to do, pressing the FN key with an F key but that didn't work....
    If I press the FN key I get f1 f2 f3 and so on.

    It was just the other way around, but I figured it out now.*Smile How come when I press "FN" button and any of the "f1 to 12" keys nothing works and happens? :)

    Are you referring to disabling Fn key?

    Do mean to say you need to press Fn key to make function keys to work normally?

    Does that Fn key working in reverse?

    What happens when you press Fn key + F1? Will it disable the sound or bring up the Help page?

    Give us the above information to assist you in this regard.
