So i bought another SSD after giving up on fixing my previous one because it was corrupted and won't boot into windows it has BCD error and repeating BSOD with Critical Process Died Stop Code, after installed a new Windows on my new SSD everything works fine but i want to format/restore my data on my corrupt SSD. I've tried to plug the corrupted drive but my PC won't boot and it got stuck on a black screen with a short white stripe at the top left corner, and i couldn't enter BIOS either. Is there any solution? I was trying to hot plug the SSD plugging the SATA cable while PC is running bu

My PC won't boot to windows correctly if I have my SSD plugged in.

My PC won't boot to windows correctly if I have my SSD plugged in.

    PC Specs:

    • Ryzen 5 2600
    • MSI B450-A Pro
    • 16gb DDR4
    • RX 480 8gb
    • SSD - Samsung 860 Evo (Windows 11 | NTFS, GPT config)

It started off when I had an unallocated partition on my Boot SSD. I tried merging it with the main partition being used for Windows using Aomei Partition manager. It went well and it did it's thing and it rebooted. I got into windows and it seemed like none of the features were working. A bunch of errors popped up so I restarted it. It ended up going into system recovery mode and then I rebooted it again and it went into "Repairing Disk Errors. this might take over an hour." I waited an hour and a half and it seemed like there was no progress so I force rebooted my PC (that's probably what broke it). Now, every time I boot up my PC and into my SSD, it brings up "preparing automatic repair" and then my whole screen goes black and only a mouse cursor appears. I can't do anything. I tried going into system recovery mode by hard rebooting 3 times and that doesn't work. I installed windows 10 on a separate SSD and it boots fine ONLY if the Boot SSD from before is unplugged. If I have it plugged in, the computer goes into preparing for automatic repair and the whole screen turns black.

From this, it's safe to assume its the Boot SSD causing this problem.

Is there a way to get it back to normal without losing data?

I have a lot of things on there I didn't backup which I cant lose.

Windows 10 won't boot with SSD plugged in.

So a while back I got a new motherboard the MSI A320M PRO VD/S V2. Off course this came along with some new ram and a new CPU. Right now I have 3 storage devices plugged in. My HardDrive, my boot SSD and a second SSD for storage. I have this configured
that my boot SSD is in SATA 1 and my HardDrive is in SATA 2. Now my other SSD is plugged in via an USB C to USB 3.1 connector on the back of my computer. Every time I try to boot with that SSD plugged in on the back, windows just won't boot. When I take it
out then boot my pc it works.

I turned off legacy mode for USB in my bios. I also turned legacy mode off in the boot manager. I made sure that windows boot manager is selected on the SATA 1 drive. It all detects the drives and everything but it just won't boot. It is so weird, I do not
    understand.

Cannot boot windows 10 SSD after having installed Windows 11

    1. Took original 512GB NVMe SSD with windows 10 install out of M.2_1 slot
    2. Installed a 4TB NVMe SSD into M.2_1 slot
    3. Installed Windows 11 from iso (using Ventoy)
    4. Installed another new 2TB NVMe SSD into M.2_2 slot
    5. Plugged original 512GB NVMe SSD into a USB3 NVMe/NGFF adapter. It shows as a JMicron adapter.
    6. Booted to Clonezilla iso (using Ventoy)
    7. Followed instructions in Clonezilla and cloned contents of 512GB SSD to 2TB SSD
Now, regardless of Custom Lithium Ion Battery Pack Manufacturer being enabled in the motherboard's UEFI settings:

    • 2TB drive won't boot, with a 0xc000000e winload.efi error.
    • original 512GB drive won't boot with a similar error, even if I move it from the JMicron USB3 adapter into the M.2_2 slot
    • In the JMicron USB3 adapter the original 512GB drive also gives this error when attempting to boot from it on another computer. This is the hint for me that booting the working SSD from the USB3 adapter is probably bad, and also that this may have caused my clonezilla session to perform a bad clone.
    • Booting the 4TB drive to boot to Windows 11 still works. I am so far trying to avoid physically removing this drive from M.2_1 slot because I want to keep its thermal pad intact.
My hope is that if I do put the original 512GB drive back in the M.2_1 slot that it might start to work again. I cannot fathom what the Win11 install or Clonezilla session could have possibly done to damage the contents of the 512GB drive.
