Windows 10: How could we open/save files in the corrupt Hard disk of Windows 10 laptop. Sata USB adapter

Just my thoughts further to my questions:Hi, Is it possible to save time by connecting the Hard disk Windows 10 with SATA to USB Hard Drive Adapter and copy/save the important data but how to open files? Or I should not touch Hard disk just let the Recovery environment with various option to do the magic. Therefore, first I badly want data to be saved then use the option Recover Data from a Drive:1. Data files will be saved rest will be erased.2. All data will be erased.I like the first option.Do you know how to open and save the files? Please share and oblige. Your help and guidance will b

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Hard Disk files show up as an Desktop.ini

Do you see anything when you plug the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 hard drive into the Win 10 laptop via the USB to SATA adapter cable you purchased? For example, does it appear as a new drive in File Explorer with folders and files you can open, similar to what you would see when you plug in a removable USB thumb drive? The short YouTube video I embedded in my previous post should give you a good idea of what you should expect to see.

I'm not a hardware or data recovery specialist, so if your 3.5" Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 hard drive doesn't appear in File Explorer when the adapter is plugged in then I'm only guessing that the USB port on the Win 10 laptop can't provide enough power on its own to spin up your Seagate hard drive, based on the power specifications I found in the Barracuda 7200.12 Serial ATA Product Manual. At this point I'm not even sure how you could connect your 3.5" SATA HD to the USB to SATA adapter you purchased since the product specifications <here> for your adapter (which might be wrong on the Walmart site ) suggest it is only compatible with 2.5 inch SATA drives.

Before you spend more money on a powered USB to SATA adapter or external hard drive enclosure you might want to post in the BleepingComputer's Internal Hardware board as I suggested before and ask for another opinion.
