    How did I wipe a disconnected drive while performing a fresh install?


    So I just installed a new motherboard, cpu, and ram. I had my flash drive ready for a fresh install of windows 10 and ran into an issue that I had to clean my ssd from dos. There were about 6 different partitions showing on the select where to install windows so to ensure I cleaned the correct drive I powered down, unplugged my hhd leaving only my ssd plugged in. Continued with the install. Booted up and realized my other drive with all the files I planned on keeping was still unplugged so I powered down, plugged it up, rebooted, and that drive had been totally wiped as well. It appears to be recognizing it and has correct drivers. Anyone have any idea how or why that drive got wiped as well?

    How to wipe a hard drive

    modder I already used kill-disk. The deletion is done, I need to reinstall everything.

    Wondering about a second hard drive and installing Vista on it and also a ..

    Annoying having to go into the bios each time though. And for me not a option unless i run 2 arrays.
