Windows 10: how do add users in c:\users to control panel after recovery

i installed fresh win10 on new computer. i could not use the backup on the new computer. it would error out on OS installs. after fresh install, i was able to do full recover from backup done using previous computer. new computer is up and running with a new user XYZon this new computer:users show up in c: but not on control panel etc. i can see that data exists under the c:\user\abc but i can not get that abc user as logon etc.how do i get win10 pro to add the users in c:\users to the list of users in control panel etc.i have restarted several times, not fixed.under control panel, no en

• Have you tried booting up your computer in Safe Mode?

PC user name is not in the users accounts in control panel

Oh yes...that nightmare (I got rid of the MS acct). I've been told there is a difference between account name and user name. I never knew this. That being said, I know where to look at the User accounts in control panel...user accounts (here it is ABCD). Well this implies it is the user id...but evidently not, because on the C drive in (C:\Users)...this directory is not the same ..the directory is ABCDZ. Then you have control panel, System ...PC name is ABCD-PC as is the full name..

so? what is the proper lableing of these?

1) Control panel, system computer name and full name? is this the account with the -PC addendum?
2) Control panel, "USER" accounts...the name implies THIS is the user, but it is ABCD..the account name.
3) in explorer, the C:\Users\ABCDZ? This is obviously my user id.
4) the lock screen comes up with ABCD...again the acct name.

Where would you edit the user id (ABCDZ) is not in control panel, user accounts?

• Click on Start.
• Type Control Panel, and then press Enter.
• Click on System and Security.
• Click on Security and Maintenance.
• On the left pane, click on Change User Account Control settings.
• The Slider should be set to the 3rd option from the bottom.
• Click on OK button.
